Lucinda Cassamassino DiFalco – Founder, President, & CEO of Lucid (Lucechiara) Translations, Ltd. University Professor of Italian, Spanish & French currently teaching at C.W. Post, LIU. Former university teaching includes SUNY Old Westbury, Adelphi University Garden City campus, Dowling College Oakdale and Brookhaven campuses, Florida State University at Tallahassee, University of Connecticut at Storrs, and University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Lucinda holds an AA, BA, MA and is currently a Ph.D candidate. A native speaker of both Italian and English, Lucinda currently speaks 5 modern languages and possesses reading knowledge of ancient Latin and Greek. Lucinda has taught English as a Second Language (ESL) to business professionals throughout Italy while working through the sister company of Lucid Translations, Ltd – Lucechiara Translations, s.a.s. Milan. After founding her company in Italy, Lucinda came to the US to found the New York affiliate and began focusing on written document and book translations as well as web copywriting and translations for web localization. A former child actor, Lucinda also directed the not-for-profit theatre troupe “The Commedia dell’Arte Players” sponsored by Lucid Translations and is currently our company’s most versatile voiceover talent.Gregory DiFalco - Director of Internet Marketing. A graduate of Hofstra University with a B.A. in Print Journalism, Greg has over 13 years of experience working on the Internet, first as a coder, then as a webmaster, and finally as an internet marketing professional. Greg’s expertise lies in his ability to create, run, and analyze a Search Engine Marketing (SEM) campaign from start to finish. This includes Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay-Per-Click (PPC) management on Google AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing, and MSN AdCenter, as well as content creation (Wikipedia, etc.) and social media optimization via YouTube, Twitter, blogs, etc. Greg has managed SEM for our small business clients, as well as for large corporations, from retail to lead generation websites. Greg combines his skills to effectively manage and allocate Lucid Translations’ workloads, supervise client-staff interaction, prepare proposals for new clients, manage advertising campaigns, and train personnel to effectively integrate the latest internet marketing strategies.
Dawn Kraus - Executive Assistant. Dawn graduated with highest honors from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, with a degree in Hotel Restaurant Management and Hospitality Management. Formerly the Executive Director of the Islip Arts Council, Dawn planned over 50 events a year during her 13 years there - from small concerts for 40 people to large fundraisers and events such as the New York Philharmonic Free Concert at Heckscher State Park, which hosted over 50,000 audience members each year. Dawn used her time at the Arts Council to develop a unique set of skills that today combine to form the backbone of Lucid Translations’ writing, research, and management department. A true Renaissance woman, Dawn writes web copy for our SEO clients, researches funding opportunities, writes our grant proposals, and continually updates our business plan, website, and company information submitted to advertising sources. In addition, Dawn handles our corporate ledgers, provides daily accounting support, and manages our desktop publishing needs. Dawn's latest entrepreneurial venture, Aurora Events & Services, provides support for Lucid Translations' seminars and language classes, plus trip planning, logistics, and agenda for our out-of-state business meetings.
Carolyn Mejia – Copywriter, Translator and ESL Instructor. The newest member of the Lucid Translations team, Carolyn has a B.A. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Italian and is currently finishing an M. A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at C.W. Post Long Island University. Carolyn is a native speaker of both Spanish and English, and has also studied Italian. She has studied both the Italian language and the art of translation with Lucinda, contributing to the translation of existing English web copy for several law firms and also stage managing Lucid Translations’ Italian-language Commedia dell’Arte Players. Carolyn assists with many of our projects, including our foreign language and ESL course offerings.
